July is celebrated as Van Mahotsav Month. It is an annual observance in India and is celebrated to commemorate the historic planting of a sapling by Amrit Kaur on 15th July 1950 at Rajghat, New Delhi. To commemorate the historic event, the teachers of Govt. Model High School Sector 37-C Chandigarh celebrated Van Mahotsav by planting the tree on the School Campus. Mrs. Harmneet Kaur, School Headmistress, also encouraged the students to plant more tree samplings.
